Tuesday 9, June 2009

Thank you to everyone who is coming into BBCF, bringing their friends and family to become a part of our CrossFit family. For my early morning folks, who may not get to see the end of the day board we had with our awesome members from IGT a record 54 people today (including myself and Jason).

Today we actually have a choice of WOD's - depending on if your hands look like mine or not. :)

Both are from Canada - eh (ha that never gets old)

1st choice is from Canada West

"Jackie"
1k row
50 thrusters 20kg (men and woman)
30 pull ups

men 2:56
woman 3:28

or

2nd choice from Canada East

21-15-9

Burpees
Kettlebell swings 24kg/16kg

men 3:01
woman 4:15

Yep another good day in the box!!!!

I love looking at the results of pukie the clown first thing in the morning!!!!

Sweet - I can do burpees and KB swings!

Ok, so I was looking at the Jackie times and thinking "is sub-3 minutes even humanly possible?!". You'd have to row at a 1:00/500m pace for a thousand meters. And then do 50 thrusters and 30 pull-ups in less than a minute!!!! So I dug around and found the winning times for Jackie. Whew!! I thought I was going nuts!

Men: 6:09
Women: 8:05

Full results Here

You'll notice that at the bottom of the box with the details of the WOD (Jackie), there is a "1 of 2 >>". If you click on the ">>", it will take you to the alternate WOD. Whenever there is a choice of WOD's, you can page through the WOD's by clicking on the ">>"

Wow, of course Chandler had to show its possible to get sub 3 :-p

Insane job -- what did you get the 1k row done in?

I'd like to try this one but to bad I work the base today :-(

Chandler did the Burpee/KB WOD (Canada East). He was about 5 seconds faster than the winning time at the qualifier!

So Sam called me out on using the 20kg kettlbell, so I used the 24kg - which was good. :)

It is my burpees that slow me down - any ideas on how to get faster on those? Is it just that my butt ways tooooo much to go any faster? LOL!

Anyway, it was 5 something I think.

Seriously, everyone who does the WoD more than one time per day please stand up.
Hmmm, I think there's only one person standing. Am I right?

Ty Jones said...

Lynn,
I usually have a very hard time standing after doing the WOD once. So I'm not standing for at least two reasons. :-)
