Tuesday 27, April 2010

Well, here is the weather that totally screws up my programing!!! Ahhhh, these are the days that I think WOW San Diego would be nice.

Strength:

Hang cleans
3-3-3-3-3
was going to throw snatch skill work in, but the metcon is a little longer than I expected.

Metcon:

"Karen Cleans the Farm" (yeap I'm the witty one who came up with this one)
6 x
25 wall balls 20/16lbs
10 hang cleans 50/30kg
200m farmers carry 24/16kg

Haha get it, the name play I love it! Some days I am so on top of things. :-)

Sad to hear on the main page that Amanda Miller - the chick with the pistol tatoos who competed and did well in last years CF Games - succumbed to cancer on Friday last week at the age of 25. RIP. Put in a little extra effort every WOD for those whose bodies won't allow them to.

I read her entire article last night, along with her own blog detailing her inner fight with the disease. She was a true athlete, with a never say die attitude - as of March 10th, she really still thought she would beat the cancer, and what an attitude she had towards it! If everyone took this outlook on life, their health, their fitness, their famalies, their faith - I believe the world would be a much "happier" place.

Her blog was a truly inspirational story. She suffered so much and never complained, just kept on fighting until the end. She is a true Warrior Athlete and never gave up. I envy her spirit and hope I can be that strong in the face of something so devastating.
